Christmas Tree

 It is that time to start whipping those holiday cards up (I know it's August...don't shoot the messenger).   This is really easy to create and I had fun with a non-traditional Christmas color combo.

Tall Cactus - Thank You

Another warm weather friend for you today...but I wouldn't give it a hug.  This tall Cactus is a fun one to color.  I did the background using glossy yardstick and the Copic airbrush system.  It is a fun way to make paper that coincides with the stamp you are coloring.

I love using tip to pallet to bring a second color into the coloring that normally might not blend well together.  for this one I added a little R89 with the YG03 to add color to the tips of one of the cactus clusters.  Just don't forget to clean off the YG03 before putting it away or you will have a surprise next use.

Southwest Mountain

This is a similar view when you visit parts of Arizona.  The red rocks jutting out of the ground like some mars landscape.  The heat radiating up and drying you to the core.   I wish I could enjoy the beauty from the inside of a air conditioned bubble...oh wait I can....DONT get out of your car.  It is a sight to see though.  This stamp is now available through C.C.Designs.

I love adding purples or blues over oranges and reds.  It really give a pretty accent to colors.  Don't think you can't add crazy colors in almost the "normal" to give it that special touch.

Smell the Salty Air

Living most of my life on the coast, this brings back so many fond memories.  I lived in Oregon, on the coast in Eureka, CA., and in Dutch Harbor, AK...now I live in the hot desert of Arizona (what was I thinking?).  I am definitely a coastal girl at heart and look forward  to the sound of the seagulls and the crashing of the waves with the sand between my toes and that smell of salty kelp that is drying in the wind.  For now I can dream (and color up images) of the sea.

Bridge Over Water

I love this stamp (from C.C. Designs).  It is a very calming scenery.  I can almost hear the water trickling under the bridge in the stamp Bridge Over Water.  It is a quick and easy image to color and makes a great feminine or masculine card depending on the colors chosen for the paper.

Trees with details are so easy to color.  Keep in mind you want to keep a highlight to separate the "clusters" of the different positions of the leaf areas to give the illusion of depth.  Literally this is just a bunch of fat smooshy dots places over the detail of the stamp, semi-blending from dark to light.  This could be a beautiful fall image by just changing the color of the foliage in the trees too.

Needs Wine!

It is hard to find a sweet Santa that doesn't look dopey but I think we nailed it!  This sweet Santa is making his list and seriously doesn't have time to do it twice so make sure you get on the correct list the first time around ;)

Winter Lake

This image was super easy and fun to color up.  The perfect Christmas card I think because we can mass produce them.  I kept the layering simple for just that reason.  Thinking outside the box i brought in color combinations of blue, green, purple and a tad bit of peach.  Fun huh?!  This stamp is now available at CC Designs as well as your local stores.

Sentiment Set

Here is Lookin' at Yah!

This was super fun to make and I am always looking for stamps that work with masculine cards...this one was PERFECT!  I combined it with a few other DoveArt Studios stamps too.  I am putting links right below for a quick and easy access to the store.

After coloring this cute guy up I fussy cut him out (which was easy to do).  I stamped the trees and quickly colored the background up.  I added a little Stampendous chunky white embossing powder to the trees just by sprinkling it on top and heading below.  A little edge distressing and POW! man card DONE!  This would also make a fabulous Christmas card too don't you think?

I like that you did pastels; it took this stamp over the top. The moose is probably my favorite, however, just like a child in a candy store, I want them all.

Love the way you did this one too, Jenn. Goodness, so many really beautiful images to choose from. I would have to pick the Cardinal Birdhouse as my favorite since I love to color red bird images, followed closely by Making A List since I love presents and hope I am on that list! You are just so talented :)

For this super cute stamp (with so many possibilities) I thought I would do something very outside the box.  I used some fun Copic colors and a water brush with alcohol in it (NO, I am not drinking!)...rubbing alcohol silly!  I am totally in love with this card and think I will have to keep it!

For the Little One

This stamp can be used for a boy or girl baby card depending on what colors you choose to color it.  I decided to keep this baby neutral and color it green.  Okay I guess the pattern paper kind of switched it to a boy card...oops.  Well you got the idea.

A Pocket Full of CASH

I have to admit DT member did a pocket card and I loved it so much I had to copy...everyone gets inspired from somewhere or someone.  I can't wait to make this card again and again.  So quick and simple using the Pocket Background stamp.

Here is one of the new release for 2016.  I made it on a "rocker" card base so it could be rocked back and forth to look like riding the waves.  I think its a perfect card for any occasion.  This stamp is now available at CCDesignsRubber Stamps.

A New Day

So here is the deal...I have an overabundance of crafting supplies (most of us do).  When my mother asked me if I wanted some pieces of a hornets nest (hornets not included) I said "well yes I do but put it in an envelope cause I need to hide it from the husband".  Now don't get me wrong, he is very supportive of my craft...but hornet paper, really?  What the heck are you gonna do with that?  Well...let me tell you...

...use it on a card...duh!  I decided  to use one of the new releases from CCDesigns Rubber Stamp "Yound Fawn" by DoveArt studios.  I wanted a both hard and soft look to it so I used cheese cloth and a pearl pen for the soft look and hornets nest, tree bark and stick for the hard look. 

I don't think this card will do well to be mailed, so I guess it will have to sit on a shelf to be looked at.

Hello Beautiful

Everyone loves flowers right?  This is a columbine.  Have you seen how many different combinations this flower comes in?  Perfect for every occasion.  I also used the "Simply Beautiful" sentiment set to go with it.

Winter Wonder

I love the little attitude of this cardinal.  I placed her in a winter scene as it just felt right.  Unfortunately I couldn't even start to remember the colors I used for this so I guess one of these days I will need to recolor one and see if I can figure it out.  Hopefully you will find inspiration anyways.
