Dreams Do Come True

Hello everyone, Nic here to show you one of the new stamps.

I have chosen to use the new Castle stamp.  I have created this card in honor of my daughter, Madison's, love for Disneyland.  It brings back special memories of her very first visit to Disneyland when she was a little girl and she was scared of all the characters but Cinderella.  I still remember the look of awe on Madison's face when she met Cinderella and the kindness that Cinderella showered upon her.  Her love for this magical place, that allows everyone to dream big dreams, keeps on growing and for that I am grateful!

Here is the picture that inspired my card...isn't it dreamy?!

Copic Colors Used:

Castle ~ T0, T1, T3, T5, T6
          B21, B23, B26
                    Y00, Y11, Y15, YR23
Greenery ~ G20 G21, G24
Pathway ~ W0, W1, W2, W4
Water ~ B21, B23, B26
Background ~ Y04, B23, B26, RV34

Supplies Used:
Clear Wink of Stella Brush Pen
Liquid Gold Opaque Paint Marker by Deco Color
Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive

To create this card, I first colored the Castle with Copics on Hammermill Color Copy Digital Cover, 100lb. and then did some fussy cutting.  The background is created by using the airbrush machine with Copics on glossy cardstock and then spritzed with 91% alcohol in a Mini Mister.  I wanted to really give the Castle a lot of dimension, so I popped the castle up by using a double layer of foam tape.  For the finishing touches, I used my Big Shot to cut out the word, dream, from white cardstock and added some sparkle with my clear Wink of Stella brush pen; and I couldn't resist using these chipboard mini stars in three different sizes from Make It Crafty.  I first colored them gold with my Liquid Gold Opaque Paint Marker and added that extra sparkle with my clear Wink of Stella brush pen.

I am so thrilled how this card turned out and I hope it gives you inspiration to dream big dreams!!!

I think this Santa from the new DoveArt Studios holiday release, Making a List, is one of the best looking Santa's I have ever seen! So I decided to make him the main focal point of my Christmas book this year.  I really love how he looks on the front cover!

Winter Cardinals

Hello fellow stampers,

I would like to show you what I have created for the new DoveArt Studios July release. I have used the new DoveArt Studios "Winter Cardinals."

Copics
Female Cardinal E51, E26, E35, E28, R02, R05
Male Cardinal & Berries R24, R46, R59
Evergreen YG95, G99
Sky BG0000, BG000, BG10
Snow C1, C3, C5

For the snow I added Diamond Dust and Crystal Art Glitter and for the berries I added Christmas Red Stickles for some extra shimmer.  I wanted to add some extra dimension so I popped up the female Cardinal twice plus her wing and the male Cardinal is popped up three times plus his wing and cheek.  I really love how this card turned out!

All of DoveArt Studios beautiful rubber stamps can now be purchased immediately.  You can see where to buy at the link on the blog HERE to find the quickest links or locations.  Some of the stores around you just might carry the stamps, or you can ask them to get them in, too.

Color My World

I adore this giraffe stamp from DoveArt Studios!  Giraffes are one of my most favorite animals; they have such gentle spirits!  When I started designing this card I had a vision that the giraffe should be pink, but as I started coloring it it just didn't speak to me so I started experimenting with different colors and there in front of me ended up being the most beautiful giraffe and I knew I had the perfect quote and stencil to go with it.  I am so happy with how this card turned out and I hope it puts a smile on your face, too!

Creative Directions:

1.  Start with white cardstock cutting 5 1/2 x 11, 5 1/4 x 5 1/4, 4 x 4, and 2 strips 5 1/2 x 1 1/2.
2.  Score card base at 5 1/2 and set aside.
3.  Using my eBosser machine I cut and embossed my Spellbinders Label One Die in the 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 piece of cardstock.  To secure the die to the cardstock I used a piece of washi tape so it would not shift when going through the machine.  Next I cut and embossed the 4 x 4 piece of cardstock with the next smallest size Labels One Die.
4.  Taking the 5 1/4 x 5 1/4 piece of cardstock I just made a frame with, I put the die back in and secured it with pieces of washi tape to a non-stick mat and put my DCWV stencil on top and secured it to the mat with blue painters tape.  Next I applied Dreamweavers Glossy White Stencil Paste with a palette knife.  Gently remove stencil by lifting from the bottom to the top and pull away from the cardstock.  Gently remove washi tape from die and remove from cardstock.  Set cardstock aside to dry.  Wash stencil and die right away so paste does not dry on them.
5.  Stamp words in Versamark Ink on diecut piece of cardstock and emboss in gold. {I used a Stamp-a-ma-jig to help me stamp the words so they were not crooked.}  Lay circle stencil over words and using a stencil pouncer, sponge Mustard Seed Distress Ink.  Set aside.
7.  Taking the 2 strips of 5 1/2 x 1 1/2 pieces of cardstock, punch 2 strips of grass using the Martha Stewart Grass Punch. Set aside.
8.  Stamp giraffe in Versamark Ink and emboss in gold.  Apply Distress Inks to a watercolor palette   and using a waterbrush color giraffe layering colors.  I also use some Tombow Markers, where needed, to add in color. Trim around giraffe with sharp scissors.
9.  When embossing paste is dry, assemble card using mounting foam.  I used a single layer of foam on the cardstock with the words and the first layer of grass; a double layer on the frame and giraffe; and a triple layer on the top layer of grass to give it all the proper amount of dimension.
